Can God Judge Us for Our Thoughts?

Somehow we seem to believe that if we can only predict what some will do according to their behavior now, then through this understanding we can prevent them from doing harm before they do it.  This is the basis of our involvement in both Iraq and Afghanistan.  We want to believe that we can prevent people from doing harm if we can keep them from thinking about it or we kill people for wanting to do harm before they do it.  This is pre-emptive reasoning.  But there is a flaw in this kind of thinking and that is that we don’t know what people are going to do until they do it.  God doesn’t hold anyone responsible for thinking whatever it is he or she wants to think.  We can’t control what people think and we often don’t even know what they are thinking until they act on their thoughts.
No one is guilty before God for thinking anything he or she wants to think.  Some people can think that members of one political party are satanic and can think that someone needs to kill all those who are members of that party.  If these people would keep their thoughts to themselves, then no one would know.  And then if they tell others that this is what they believe, it is still only a belief.  Now, if they begin to tell people how they will do it, then in fact, they have revealed their intentions and that is where they could get into big trouble.  But in God’s way of judgment, they are not guilty until they act on their thoughts.  They can be put in prison for revealing plans to anyone and that in fact, being put in prison could very well save their souls because they won’t be able to act on their plans from behind prison walls.
The Angels of Life Institute would say that this isn’t the way our society thinks and believes.  No one is guilty before God until he or she actually acts on his or her thoughts.  But this is why some thoughts are so incredibly dangerous.  When we spread lies, hatred, and fear en masse through the media or any form of social media, we do nothing for the cause of Peace, but do everything to enable Satan to act against God and that would be simply to motivate people for their own causes by taking the lives of others.
If we are instruments of Peace, we will wish no harm to come to anyone regardless of belief or actions.  If we are instruments of Peace we will do all we can do to alleviate the fears and the hatred of others.  If we are instruments for Peace we will live the Peace of Jesus in our lives and will do nothing to cause others harm, wish others harm, or any way do harm to our own selves.  If we are instruments of Peace we live the Peace of Jesus whether we recognize that He is the Source of that Peace.
If there is Peace in the world then Peace has to begin within each and every one of us.  Peace does not hate.  Peace does not fear.  Peace is what Jesus gives to everyone who believes in Him.  The problem is that many believe in Jesus but don’t live in His Peace.  There are those who believe that God will even forgive the sin of murder.  God forgives thinking about it, but God doesn’t forgive anyone for doing it.  And that is a real big difference.  We can’t stop people from thinking about anything they want to think about.  We might believe that we can even prevent people from doing harm to others by knowing what they think.  But no one is guilty before God until he or she acts on his or her thoughts and then takes the life of another.  And it is then that his or her salvation is simply lost for all eternity.  Peace.
