The parable of the two builders in Matthew 7:24-27 needs to be understood in light of Mark 4:13. In Mark 4, Jesus delivers to those gathered to hear Him, the parable of the sower and the seeds. The disciples then ask the meaning of the parable. Jesus responds by asking them how they can understand ALL the parables if they don’t understand this one. What Jesus is then saying is that all the parables say the same thing.
We have to ask ourselves as to whom Jesus is addressing in ALL the parables and our answer is that Jesus is addressing ALL the Pharisees for one simple reason. The Pharisees believed in taking human life and killing those whom they felt weren’t worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven according to Leviticus 20. Their goal, we believe, was to simply remove from the world all those unfit to live in it and thereby ushering in the Kingdom of God by removing those whom they felt didn’t belong. And Jesus is saying in Matthew 7 that the teachings of the Pharisees were wrong. Anyone who followed the teachings of the Pharisees was building on false hope and that He Himself was the expected Messiah to save the world. This is why Jesus died for every single sin known to the world except for the sin of the Pharisees, which was murder. They taught that it is okay to kill others who didn’t live up to the standard of the kingdom according to Leviticus 20.
Then Jesus comes along and says that their teaching is wrong. No one has a right to take the life of another FOR ANY REASON and according to Mark 4:13, what Jesus is saying to the disciples is that ALL the parables of Jesus point to the killing of the Pharisees as not being of God, but of Satan. Anyone who follows the teachings of the Pharisees follows Satan into hell. But if one builds on the Love and Peace of Jesus, one is building on the Solid Rock and Foundation of God. Because God is Love and Peace and anyone who spreads hatred and fear as the Pharisees did really do nothing for the Kingdom of God, but simply serve Satan.
The Institute believes that hatred, fear, anger, sadness, and jealousy come from Satan, but that Love and Peace, including inner Peace comes from God. And some might ask how we achieve that inner Peace and the Institute would say that it all depends on our focus. If we focus on ourselves, in our selfishness we believe the world owes us, but that if we focus on others we believe then that God’s Kingdom is greater than any kingdom on earth. And that is the difference. The founder of the Institute claims that Angels told him that if we knew what heaven was like we would be falling all over ourselves trying to get in. Anyone who has taken a human life won’t be welcomed into God’s eternal Kingdom, but anyone who has lived in the Peace of Jesus won’t have anything to worry about in all of God’s eternity. The choice is ours to make and we can either choose the path of the Pharisees who taught killing and murder or we can follow the path of Jesus who taught Love and Peace. And if we follow the latter, we build on the Rock. And if we follow the former we build on sand. ALL the parables of Jesus say the same thing: Anyone who builds on sand follows the teachings of the Pharisees. It’s that simple. God is the God of Life and is not the god of death. That title belongs to Satan and anyone who takes a human life believing in doing so they serve God is actually a servant of Satan. Peace.
