Just
because I say the Messiah is coming soon doesn’t make me a prophet. I could simply say, “Look around
you! The signs are EVERYWHERE! Listen to the news. Read the home pages of the various news
outlets! There just isn’t much
good news!” If you want good news,
go to Youtube and watch videos of kittens playing the piano. That’s fun! But the bad news is everywhere. Since my heart attack last December, I have been going to
the gym to work out an hour a day five days a week. I was in the dressing room
overhearing a couple of the men talk and one said to the other, “I don’t listen
to the news or read the newspaper.
I just listen to my music and go to work and do my job.” And I thought to myself, this is my
advice to EVERYONE! Do those who
live in LA need to know about the heat wave in the East and the loss of power
to so many customers who are sweltering because they don’t have air
conditioning in 100 + degree heat?
No. Don’t listen to the
news. You know people are being
killed in wars.
I
used to tell my wife that I wanted to watch the local news on TV. She used to say, “I can tell you the
news. There will be a stabbing; a
few murders, maybe a suicide. Then
there will be the car accidents where someone more than likely was
killed.” Now she watches the news
and I just read about it on my home pages of my news outlets. I can pick and choose which news
articles interest me. But you know
what? The guy in the locker room
who said that he doesn’t listen to, or read the news is smart. Don’t worry; be happy. Really. This is the best advice I can give to anyone. Enjoy life and don’t worry about the
news. It won’t be good and it
won’t be pretty. Watching kittens
play the piano is much more fun than listening to or watching the news. My good news for most anyone is that
about only 1% or even less of the world HAS to worry about the Messiah
coming. Really. That is about it. That is my guess as to about how many
people have taken a human life.
For me to say that the Messiah is coming is good news for 99% of
us. So, why should I even bother
spreading the Good News? I think
it’s a valid question. It’s Good
News for just about all of us because I am saying, “Don’t worry; be
happy.” Bobby McFerrin had it
right. Just whistle your tune and
pretend that ALL is right with the world.
I have a 99% at least, of being right. 99% of us, at least, have nothing to worry about when the
Messiah comes. So my advice is,
“Don’t worry; be happy.”
