Difficult at Best

The Pharisees were murderers from carrying out the letter of the Old Testament Law by putting to death those whose sins were worthy of death.  This is NOT generally understood and against orthodoxy of the teachings of what is commonly defined as Christianity and thus more or less is blasphemy to suggest such a thing.  But it is this backdrop which is the teaching of the parables of Jesus including the parable of the Prodigal Son.  Most who understand Christianity would NOT accept this understanding, except to say that the son who stayed at home represent the Pharisees.  It does, but because the Pharisees carried out the letter of the Law by taking Human Life for sins worthy of death.  The son who leaves home represents the Grace of God.  This son committed most every sin known and the fact is that his sins cost him so much that he even ate what was left over from swine.  But this parable represents the sin of suicide in that the father felt sure that his son was dead more than likely at his own hand.  But this is MY understanding of the parable.  The returning son is greeted by his father who threw for his returning son a great party.  The oldest son is envious of his younger brother and rightfully so.  This parable illustrates perfectly the Grace of God in contrast to the Judgment of the Law of the Old Testament.  This understanding is NOT orthodoxy.  Dennis thinks that it might be best if I could find fellowship with those who believe in the sanctity of human life.  The problem I have is that those who condemn abortion support capital punishment and those who condemn capital punishment do NOT condemn abortion.  I really can't find anyone who believes in the sanctity of Human Life from creation of life to the death of life.  And if I do, I will fellowship with them with the understanding that ALL the parables of Jesus say the same thing.  If one can understand that Jesus died for EVERY sin EXCEPT for the sins of murder and suicide, I will insist that one can understand the Bible from cover to cover.  But finding people who believe as I do is difficult at best.  And this is something I realize.  Peace.  Brother Ralphie
