In Google We Trust?

What do Americans trust the most? I was taking Patty to work this morning and we heard this on the radio. Americans trust the medical profession the most. Then Americans trust police officers. What I found interesting is that third on the list was the local grocery store. This means that since EVERYONE has to eat, the grocery profession is perceived as being honest, even though now they track customers via coupon use and product purchases. But what I found interesting is that the Church and Google are tied for fourth and fifth place on the list. Maybe we should change our money to read, “In Google we trust.” I Googled my computer problem. The answer was that more than likely my on/off board on my computer needed to be replaced at a cost of about $100. I took my computer to the Geek Squad where it has its warranty. The computer Geek from the Squad used my cord and the LED light didn't light. Then he had another cord for it and plugged it in and the LED on that cord lit up. He said I had to replace my cord. He said it is the first line of defense for the computer. I said that I had it plugged into a surge protector. He said that surge protectors are only good for a couple of years and then they have to be replaced, depending of course on the reliability of the power in the area where one lives. He asked me how old my surge protector was. Well, it was old enough that I had no idea as to how old it was. So, Patty and I went to Target to find the best surge protector for the money. I now have a new surge protector and slowly we are going around the house replacing them as we feel we need to replace them. But my point is that Google did NOT have the right answer to my problem. In fact, I didn't read anywhere that I could find that the cord just might be my problem. Everything I read was about the computer. I am thinking about saying on an article to ALWAYS check your cord. It's the first line of defense for a computer, unless the cord doesn't have a built-in surge protector. But the fact is that EVERY computer HAS to be plugged into a good surge protector. Don't scrimp on a surge protector! The one we bought is good for about 1200 joules. Don't ask me what a “joule” is, because I have no idea. But the very best surge protectors can be up to about 2100 joules. And the best idea is to invest in a UPS Backups. I had one, but it has since become very old. I don't use it because it's too heavy and very bulky. Just invest in a good surge protector and you will have less to worry about. And then if your battery on your laptop isn't charging, more than likely it's your cord. There is NOTHING like protecting your electronic devices with a good surge protector. Use them and replace them every once in a while. Google missed this one. And in my thinking not ALL churches can be trusted with God either. Peace. Brother Ralphie
